The religious act of Haj teaches Muslims the meaning of sacrifice and patience when facing various trials and challenges while in the Holy Land. This was among the matters emphasised in the Sermon on the Day of Arafah delivered by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop. The Sermon on the Day of Arafah also outlined that with an accepted Haj, it is hoped changes will be brought about in each pilgrim to become a righteous person who is able to bring goodness to others.​
